As a Knoxville Boudoir Photographer, I have had the privilege of helping countless women on their individual self love journeys. From the moment I photographed my first boudoir session, around 9 years ago, I knew that I wanted to use boudoir photography as a tool to help women see themselves in a new light.

At my private studio, with its 12 foot ceilings, white walls, and beautiful natural light, each boudoir session is uniquely tailored to the individual. Whether we're shooting on plush beds or against the clean lines of the room, my focus is always on capturing the beauty and power of my clients' bodies.

Kala came into the studio this winter and gave me free reign to create. We played with light and backdrops and movement and texture. My very favorite part of Kala's session, though, was the lens through which she allowed her body to be photographed. Kala is an incredibly confident woman who is more than comfortable in her own skin. She is at a place in her self love journey where she openly celebrates who she is, as she is! We planned this whole session to be photographed through the female gaze instead of the male gaze, meaning we weren't trying to "sex it up" but instead, we showcased her natural beauty and femininity. This is, truly, some of my very favorite work.

But heres the thing about self love- that journey is not linear. I can wholeheartedly tell you that I have bad days, that Kala has bad days, and that you reading this does as well. The important part is that we separate those feelings from who we are as a whole. My body is my body, for better or worse. As is Kala's, as is yours. That body deserves celebrations.
